Day 5

I apologize for my late posting today but this day was very eventful.

2 Chronicles 35:1-36:23 KJV NLT
I had a minor set back in one of my faults that I have been struggling to overcome and by reading these old testament stories about what the kings of Judah have been doing, I could almost relate. However , like Josiah I am determined to keep my promise with God and not let the minor setback push me to far back. It was just a shame that after all the hard work Josiah put in it almost seemed to go to waist because of what his successors did. And once again the people followed the Pagan practices . Even when the prophets warned them about the wrath that God would put on them they still ignored it. The people of Judah forgot that no matter what , God always comes through with his promises and as he told Josiah , Judah was basically destroyed by the Babylonians. King Cyrus of Persia was now the new person to rebuild the city the way God had intended.

Psalm27:1-6 KJV NLT

Psalm 27

A psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?
2 When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident.

4 The one thing I ask of the Lord
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.
5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
6 Then I will hold my head high
above my enemies who surround me.
At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
singing and praising the Lord with music.

1 Corinthians 1:1-17 KJV NLT
Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. 9 God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

This verse is significant to me because I feel that every time I start to rebuild my relationship with God , something happens to try and deter me. This time it is definitely different. I am determined to learn about God and what I need to do to be in his good favor. I also realize that it is is not a job that can be done by myself. It can not be done without God's help. I must seek him, listen to him, and adhere to him in order to overcome my battles .

Proverbs 20:20-21 KJV NLT
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. 21An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
